This product is well constructed. Information material is lacking, and assembly instructions are not adequate, as you should not completely assemble both sides before inserting the rotating bar. Additionally, you should not tighten the bolts/nuts on the plastic slides on the chrome declining set bars as too much tightening hampers the slides from working properly. Basically, this is a stable, well constructed unit, but completely lacks adequate "How to Use" information.

I was facing major back surgery for a bulging L5 disk and 3 weeks proir to a consultation with my neuro-surgeon I started using my Apollo. When I met with the surgeon and walked on my toes and heels for him, he told me that I didn't need his help and I've been pain free ever since a week before our meeting. The firm flat backboard is the greatest, but the foot pads are too small in diameter and should be made out of closed cell foam. I have to add 2 wash cloths to the heel and shoelace area of each foot to keep my hang sessions from being painfull. There may need to be some design work done in this area. Over all I'm really pleased with the results because it keeps my back in good shape.

I thought about buying an inversion table for quite a while before getting the Kettler table. Assembly was easy and the parts fit well. It was comfortable and easy to find a balance point, important for getting back to the starting position. The four corners are squared off with plastic stabilizers making it very stable. Start out with short inversion angles and times. My ankles needed time to adjust to working in the inverted position.

One consideration is storage - this assembles using locking hardware that is not to be removed, making it a bit cumbersome to relocate. The table can still be taken off the frame making it a little easier to move to a different room, basement, etc - but the frame does not fold down.

I love this machine. I have two bad back places and this helps them both. My neck vertebrae are out of alignment and this is helping to straighten it out. I have degen. disc disease and use the table for 15-20 minutes a day. I like the fact it fully inverts. It is VERY sturdy, and I weigh 220#. Extremely well made, make sure and review the instructions and lay out the parts as illustrated and it's fairly easy to assemble.

I purchased my Kettler Inversion Table on the advice of a fellow co-worker who also suffered from a back problem. I've been using it 3-4 times per week for the last two years. The extended ankle bar is a must as I am unable to bend to my ankles when in pain. The ankle padding is good (maybe a little more). The back board is very heavy and supportive. I purchased the lumbar support as well and glad I did. I was worried about the curved handles but they are just fine. No problems getting up at all. I'm a 71 year old male. Since my 40's I've gradually lost 1 1/2 inches in height due to compression of the spine. Approximately six months ago I developed excruciating, life altering pain in the lower back. An MRI showed that I have three herniated discs with one disk extruded. Also, arthritis of the spine and spinal stenosis.At this stage, exercises did not help at all, they in fact increased my discomfort. Pills had done very little to ease the pain. I went through the epidural injections to the spine without much change. When I started treatments on a traction machine, it helped ease my pain a great deal. When my insurance ran out after 24 treatments, I consulted with my physician and purchased an inversion machine. I selected the Apollo, due mainly to the fact that it was German made, the cost seemed reasonable and the ankle restraints appeared well made. I use it twice a day for 15 minutes each time at an inclination of approximately 55 degrees. I combine this with deep breathing exercises while on the machine. I've been using it for approximately three weeks. The equipment is easy to use and easy to get onto and off of, even for a 71 year old man with serious spinal problems. I've experienced very little discomfort while using the equipment. This apparatus is continuing my recovery started by the traction and is helping return me to a more normal lifestyle. I believe I could have probably skipped the traction treatments with my physician, (24 treatments at $20.00 co-pay for each = $480.00 --Apollo cost [$]) since the Apollo is basically a traction machine. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone experiencing problems with the spine. I would suggest, if possible, trying an inversion machine before submitting to an operation on your spine.The equipment is very difficult to assemble. This is not due to it being an extremely complicated machine, it's really rather simple. The problem lies in the manual accompanying the machine. It is poorly conceived and was apparently written by the engineers who designed the equipment, who understand the assembly very well and can't understand why anyone would need more than a very simple explanation of how it is to be put together. I even looked on line to see if they had further instructions on their web site. But sadly, No! It's unfortunate, because in every other aspect this equipment is superior. If you can get the thing assembled without taking a sledge to it and smashing it to pieces half way through the assembly, out of total frustration, I believe that you'll come to realize that this is a good thing.

It does take a little time to setup, but it is worth the effort. It is sturdy and large...I trust hanging upside down on this thing! Easy to adjust and use. It is very heavy and would be hard to move or fold up to put it away. You will have to pick a place to set it up and leave it there. My only real complaint is the foot grips. The round pads just don't do the trick. One of the other systems out there has heal cups that look like they would be comfortable on the heals. These round pads push on the achillies when you hang and it starts to hurt. If you wear high tops...it helps. So, something more comfortable on the heal side would be great!

Otherwise, I like the system.

It is solidly built and was fairly easy to set up although having another person to help would've made it much quicker. I purchased for intractable sciatica. Using the table in combination with posture exercises, I am nearly pain free and am cancelling my appointment with a neurosurgeon.

The table is difficult to assemble (about a million nuts and bolts) but it is doable with 2 people. Very solid and easy to use. Comfortable until steep incline and then the tug on ankle joints is pretty uncomfortable.

Very difficult to set up....appx 1.5 hours for a good assembler. Squeeks when used. Bearings I think. Very sturdy and well built. Do not reposition frequently....very bulky, heavy and difficult to move. Use two person if needed to move. I suggest the Teeter Hang Up. Light and portable. Though the latter is made in China and the Apollo is made in Germany, portability is more efficent with the Teeter(s).

I am a 50-year old, former college-level athlete. I have experienced Lumbar pain since 1984 that has been temporarily relieved by a chiropractor. This is a very good build table that is comfortable and easy to use. I think it is worth the little extra $ that this costs over some other models. Note: Even though there is a convienent adjustment handle that does not require you to lean all the way over to lock your feet in, the instructions say to never use without inserting a locking pin, which still requires you to lean all the way over.

I purchased this inversion table because of the price and description of the product. I couldn't be happier. I suffer from arthritis and often have back aches. I noticed a difference after a few uses. The back rest and ankle locks are nicely padded and it's very easy to get into and out of. The only drawback is that it is heavy and somewhat bulky to store, but it will fit under a bed. Don't be overwhelmed by the assembly directions - my wife put it together for me!

I purchased this when standing long hours at work resulted in low back strain and numbness in one leg. It took about two hours to unpack,
inspect all parts, and assemble. I was quite surprised by the quality and workmanship of this product. All nuts & bolts are metric, page 13 has a size chart that makes identification easy. This table is solid and stable. I looked at other tables in local stores and none came close to the quality and sturdiness.

I looked at a lot of inversion tables in stores before deciding which one to buy. In the end, I selected the Kettler Apollo because of the padded back -- it is really comfortable.

I thought the Made-In-Germany was just a gimic, but it's true -- it actually says made in Germany on it, and it feels like it! Really solid. The downside is that it's a bit heavy -- I don't recommend getting this one if you need to put it away in between uses, but that's a trade-off I'm more than willing to make for the comfort & stability of this one. Love it!

I've been using my new inversion table daily for the past 2 weeks. I can't see that I have noticed any difference and my back still hurts but I AM very optimistic that it just takes some time to see results.

I will tell you 2 negatives though: This thing was REALLY hard to put together. The directions were ridiculous and it took us 3 days to actually complete it. And the other thing is that it takes up a LOT of room! We have it in our BD, which is huge, and it is still an eyesore. But if you have a large basement, it would be great there.

I don't want to be negative b/c I've heard great things about this and I still have high hopes but I did want to include the negatives since I wish I had known about them prior to buying.
